Running modern wheels means you are showing more of your disc brake set-up. Your calipers are showing! Duplicolor has these great brake caliper paint kits to make those calipers look great. Prep is simple and application is done with a brush. Don’t worry, the paint won’t have brush marks in it if you follow instructions and don’t mess around with it. Kits come in popular colors like, black, red, yellow, blue, green and more!
Bleeding Brakes the Easy Way
June 9, 2010 | Filed Under Uncategorized | No Comments
If you’re like me, you’ve always relied on a 2nd person to bleed brakes. One person opens and closes the bleed screw and the other pushes the brake pedal. It’s harder and harder to find that second person these days. Brake Vacuum bleeders are the way to go. They’re priced right and work. Load the master cylinder up, hook the pump to a wheel cylinder or caliper and pump to draw brake fluid through the system.
Wheels As Street Rod Accessories
June 8, 2010 | Filed Under Uncategorized | No Comments
Most people don’t think of wheels as an accessory on their street rod. What better accessory is there than wheels? Some of my favorite street rod wheels are from American Racing, Billet Specialties, Weld Racing and Wheel Vintiques. Try on a new set of wheels for your next street rod accessories.

Reliable Optima Yellow Top Batteries

Right up there with tire reliability is battery reliability. Since you can’t crank over that race engine to burn rubber unless you have a good battery, I thought I would mention a few tips. If you drain your battery down deep, as in almost dead, you need an Optima Yellow Top Deep Cycle Battery. They give you the deep cycle capabilities of deep discharging without damage that occurs in standard batteries. Keep your battery terminals clean. The best Optima batter in the world won’t matter if your cable connections need cleaned.
Mickey Thompson tires the way to go
April 27, 2010 | Filed Under Uncategorized | No Comments
Mickey Thompson tires are superb tires that are as good on the track as they are the street and mud. Most of their MT tire line is geared toward specialty markets: Drag racing, off-road and high performance street tires. They have a range of tread patterns to meet each niche. Agressive side biter tread for the mud, different compounds for drag tires and wicked flame patterns on their Mickey Thompson S/R tires.
Aluminum Race Jack

You’ve probably noticed these race style aluminum jacks all over the catalogs and websites. Every performance supplier, parts company, some retailers of misc. goods and even tire stores have aluminum jacks for sale. They look the same in the catalogs and on websites, but they aren’t all the same. There are differing levels of quality and lifting capacity. JEGS has a 1.5 ton and a 2 ton aluminum jack available. Both are heavy duty, but remain light to move around because of the aluminum used. Casters and front roller work well and the jack pumps up quickly. The handle is a 2 piece design and fits together tightly – no slop! I think you will be happy with the superior quality of the JEGS jack.
Mickey Thompson Drag Radials
April 22, 2010 | Filed Under Uncategorized | No Comments
2010 is all about saving money. The economy has hit most people hard, but we still want to have some fun – right? If you have a dual purpose vehicle that races on the weekend, check out the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial. They are DOT approved for the street with a soft compound made for the track. They are a radial, so they ride well on the street. Yes, they’ll probably wear out a little quicker than a set of everyday radials, but then you’d have to buy 2 sets of rear tires! Besides, everyday street tires won’t get you down the track to the winner’s circle like the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials either….and winning is fun!
